ここに紹介します川柳は山口県産業廃棄物協会が環境保全の啓発のため日本全国から募集した2,400句の中から選んだ優秀作品15句です。英訳は山口県立大学助教授のエイミ−D ウイルソンさんです。
The Senryu displayed on these pages are the 15 chosen out of 2,400poems submitted from all over Japan in a contest sponsored by the yamaguchi Prefectural Industrial waste Assosiation in an effort to increase awareness about environmental problems.They have been translated by Amy D.Wilson,Assistant Professor,Yamaguchi Prefectural University. |

川柳は江戸中期（約1730年頃）に広まった日本の詩の一形態であり、俳句と同じく５、７、５の音字により成り立っています。俳句が季語という、四季を表す言葉を中心としていることは有名ですが、川柳の特徴は日常生活や社会の状況をより日常的な言葉で、風刺的に描くことにあります。
Senryu is a form of japanese poetry developed in the mid-Edo peoriod(around 1730) in the 5-7-5 syllable form for whichi Haiku is famous.However,while Haiku is known for its pivot words which refer to the four seasons.Senryu is characterrized by its more common language and its satirical description of daily life or social conditions. |
